Last Sunday, again a big group of Roadrunners participated in the Rotterdam Marathon or the 1/4 Marathon! Not everyone (well, no one) was prepared for the warm temperatures that day: in the afternoon it became 21 degrees, while the trainings in the weeks before were between 10-15 degrees. This made the marathon even harder for the runners. But with a lot of our members cheering them up along the parcours and the good vibes, it was an amazing day for most of us! We ended the day with a very nice dinner at 'de Burgerij'!

Every year, we have our annual trip abroad around February or March. Last years, the destination was London, where we participated in the Hyde Park Relays. This year however, we changed the destination and visited Berlin! We took the train to Berlin on an early Thursday morning, and arrived there around 15:00. After some relaxation, we visited a traditional 'Bierlokal' for pints, schnitzels and sauerkraut! The Thursday evening stood in the light of the traditional hazing of some Roadrunners, and we went clubbing late night.
Getting up early was a real challenge on Friday morning, but we stood up quite early and went for a traditional sightseeing during the day. Everything that Berlin has to offer has been visited: The Brandenburger Tor, the Reichstag, the Fernsehnturm and the Berliner Dom. During the Friday night, we stayed in the hostel, because we had to get up around 7.30 to participate in the Parkrun Berlin! While the thermometers stated it was -6 degrees, we put on our running leggings
The race of the month February was the ballententstrandloop in Hoek van Holland.
We were present with seven Roadrunners!
It was very windy and cold at the beach but despite that, the Roadrunners 3 prices! Manon was the 3rd woman on the 5km, Camill won the 10 km and Marijn was the 3rd man on the 20 km.
We had a great and very cold day! Click here for the results and click here for the photo's.
I hope to see a lot of you at the next race of the month!
More than 40 athletes, 9 cars, an unknown number of beers and an incomparable amount of fun: the Roadrunners visited Olne (Belgium) last weekend! Last year's trip was more horrifying than pleasant, with temperatures as low as -14 degrees, and one of Roadrunners who had to go to the hospital. How different it was this year: two days with brilliant sunshine and lovely temperatures.
On an early Saturday, we met in Rotterdam. The trip towards Belgium took about 2 hours, where we had lunch and spent our afternoon by hiking through some marvelous scenery. The rest of the day was reserved for dinner, and some drinks during the night in our hostel. The reason for our trip took place on Sunday: Le trèfle à quatre feuilles, a trail through the hills of the Ardennen. The choice was between running 12, 23, 33 or 42 kilometres. Everyone did the race on their own pace, but some of us were quite fast and even ended high in the final rankings from all participants! I think everyone agrees when I say that last weekend was great! Will you be joining next year?

On saturday the 4th of November was the Erasmusronde. There were 546 participants, who can ran the 5 km, 10 km or 15 km. Did you know that our oldest participant 82 was? He ran the 10 km in about 1.05! Great job! The weather of the day was good till the start of the 10 km. A lot of respect to all the participants who ran in the rain! But despite the rain we had a great day thanks to you and your support. A lot of you help to clean and that's why we want to thank you. One last thing: two of our Roadrunners won a price. Hannah was the first girl on the 5 km and Joris was the 3rd on the 15 km! Good job guys. We hope to see you next year!
